An ongoing Press Conference is happening now, August 29, 2023 at Pandan Ballroom of Greenleaf Hotel, General Santos City for the 23rd National Tuna Congress, attended by National and Local Media Practitioners.
The purpose of today's press conference is to provide an overview of this year’s Congress activities and presentation of the Congress Resolutions which is set to address critical issues related to tuna fisheries, sustainability, and conservation.
The 23rd National Tuna Congress and Trade Exhibit is set to be held at SM Trade Hall, 3rd Floor of SM City General Santos from August 31-September 1, 2023 with the theme “Adapting Strategies Responsive to Global Changes” in recognition of Global Challenges.
The SOCSKSARGEN Federation of Fishing and Allied Industries, Inc. (SFFAII) is hosting the 2-day event in partnership with the Bureau Of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the Local Government Unit of General Santos City.
Over the course the Congress, there will be engagement in meticulous dialogue, sharing of groundbreaking research and innovative solutions that can revolutionize the way we manage our tuna fisheries.
But beyond the exchange of ideas and strategies, the Tuna Congress serves as a rallying point for hope. Hope that by advocating for responsible fishing practices and fostering sustainable consumer behavior, we can leave a legacy of environmental responsibility for future generations.
